DPDP alignment & children
Edvation is designed consent-first around India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Below, in plain language, is how the platform treats children’s data, consent and tracking — the design principles are already in production; formal certification language is being finalised with counsel.
How does the platform treat under-18s?
Anyone under 18 is treated as a child under the DPDP Act. Features involving a child’s personal data are gated behind verifiable parental consent, and children are never subject to behavioural tracking or targeted advertising. This is a design default, not an opt-in setting.
Where is parental consent required?
Consent gates protect the sensitive features: a parent must consent before a child uses AI and microphone features. The Speak Coach asks for explicit microphone consent, and parent gates control access to children’s AI — parents can review and withdraw consent from their own dashboard.
Do you track or profile children?
No. There is no behavioural tracking of minors, no advertising, and no profiling for anything other than the educational feature the student is using. Learning data serves the student’s own progress and their teacher’s support — nothing else.
Who is accountable for data concerns?
Data-protection and grievance concerns can be raised at info@edvation.ai. A grievance officer point of contact is provided for parents and schools, and due-diligence questionnaires are welcome. Formal policy documents are being finalised with counsel.
